As I mentioned previously, one of my readers, Marty Glickstein, has led me to a community website called Sentry Outpost and some digging and poking around the site has revealed a tight knit group of people who I think may just be after the same thing as I am and have indeed been doing it a lot longer. The statement on the main page of the Outpost's wiki reads: "In April of 2007 a new wave of Sentries joined the Outpost. Since then, the focus of the Sentries has altered from neutralizing malicious technology to investigating a server infection leading to the deaths of 5 members of the Outpost and 1 member admitted to a mental institution. These are the facts we have been gathering to bring justice to our fallen members and track down those responsible for the malicious software that started it all."

From what I can tell, the current Sentries are investigating the deaths or disappearances of what they refer to as the Old Sentries, the founders of the site as well as a guy named Stu, who apparently died from eating a pickle. Doesn't sound very spooky, but who knows? I've seen even more banal deaths lead to outrageous causes than you can shake a Kriss dagger at! Maybe someday I'll tell the tale of Petey "smallmouth" Bass who died of contentment.

The Current Sentries seem convinced that Chorazos was responsible in the Lucky5 virus and I have no reason to doubt them. It sure fits what I'd learned about the bastards. When I read about the murdered Sentries, I was tempted to make the leap to those being the work of the Tarot Killer but the thing is, the M.O.s are different. Not only that, while 4 founders and one Outpost member (Stu) are mentioned as being dead on the Outpost's wiki main page but in other locations two of the founders, Marie and Alan are listed officially as missing.

This is all very bizarre and getting stranger by the second. It appears that Kevin committed suicide (was he driven to it by the Lucky5 virus?), Jennifer was indeed brutally murdered with only her computer stolen and Alan just up and disappeared, although Marie posted on the Sentry outpost forums that someone named Exu (no idea who he/she is) has confirmed Alan's death. Then, shortly after that post, Marie herself vanished under very extreme circumstances. And let us not forget the pickle. If Stu was allergic and someone knowing that put the pickle on his sandwich... Reading all of this certainly sent multiple shivers down my spine. One serial killer is bad enough, but now it seems like the cult I am quite certain he's involved with may have killed or kidnapped 5 others.

And then there's Bryce, who is cooped up in a mental institution in California after apparently being driven mad by what he discovered inside the original, hacked Sentry Outpost computer. The thing is, I received an email from an informant with a document that described the circumstances of Bryce's incarceration and they involved prodigious amounts of animal blood and I subsequently found the rest of the documents on Sentry outpost.

So how about this for a theory: Bryce digs deep into the belly of the Outpost server, goes insane. But sort of not really. His delusions about bringing the dead back to life are a combination of the effects the Lucky5 virus and whatever his father put into his head as a child, at least according to the notes in his file. However, instead of bringing back beings to life, he's just killing them but happened to get caught while he was still only killing birds, so as to "perfect" his method. Of course the method doesn't work, so all he was doing is killing birds.

I submit that since Chorazos created the virus, maybe one of its functions is to seek out those who fit part of their demonic and demented plans? Maybe someone with hidden beliefs that play into their plans and part of the effects of the virus on those that survive exposure is a natural inclination towards Chorazos. It makes sense, no? Taking this to a logical (?) conclusion, what if the virus found someone else, someone who got past the bird killing stage and is now killing people, as well?

My brain hurts.

This tale of terror is veering all over the place and right now it's making me angry, scared, charged up, curious and anxious....
